The  Sandalwood Shire Project:
Biodiverse sandalwood systems improving regional resilience in the NE Wheatbelt

This project was sponsored by Wheatbelt Natural Resource Management as part of the Soil Conservation Incentives Project from funding from the Australian Governments Caring for Country  program

Over  the  last two years 350ha of bio diverse sandalwood systems have been established at 14 sites within a 150km radius of Bencubbin. As part of this project technical and site information has been gathered to assist landholders to establish their own sites in this area targeted particularly on soil types which are not productive for conventional annual crops such as wheat, oats and canola.
